Taco Melts
Ok, so this isn't my recipe, but it was yummy and quick for dinner tonight, and as usual I kinda did a few things to dress it up a bit. If ya try it I hope you like it!
Taco Melts
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
2/3 c water
1 lb ground beef
1/2 c salsa
1 c shredded cheese (I used a Mexican blend, but use what you have or like)
sour cream (optional as a garnish)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
salt and pepper
1 pkg Grands! biscuits
1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and add the onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
2. Drain the grease from the beef mixture and add the taco seasoning mix, 2/3 c water and 1/2c salsa.
3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce is thick.
4. I let the meat mixture cool a little while I roll out my Grands! into 6 inch rounds.
5. Spoon about 2 tbsps of the meat onto one side of the rolled out biscuit, then add about 1 tbsp (I used a little more) of the chesse.
6. Fold over the biscuit, and pinch to seal.
7. Bake in a 375 degree preheated oven for 9-14 minutes or until it's golden brown.
